Meet the team

With 16 years’ experience spanning HMRC and small and large accountancy firms, Liam knows the tax system from both sides of the desk. Employment taxes, personal tax, corporation tax: his real passion is finding every legitimate way to make your business more tax-efficient. Off the clock, it’s all about family time with his wife and their seven kids, which is a full-time job in itself.

Jon’s story is a proper career climb. He started out on reception at a small accountancy firm and worked his way up to running our practice, picking up strong payroll, tax and accounts knowledge along the way. Newly married, and you’ll find him gaming whenever he gets a spare minute.

Hayley honed her craft across several small accountancy firms and arrived with the kind of VAT and bookkeeping know-how most people would envy. Now she leads our Accounts & VAT team. Away from her desk, it’s all about family, friends and her dog, Harry.

Ann is our resident Personal Tax Senior, guiding clients through self assessment and the new Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. Liam worked alongside her in a previous role and knew she was exactly the safe pair of hands we needed. Away from work, she treasures time with her children and granddaughter.

Joseph first came to us on work experience and impressed so much he never really left. He’s now a key part of our Accounts & VAT team, and proof that hard work pays off.

Sophie knows her way around a VAT return and keeps clients’ books in great shape. Outside work, she’s making the most of time with family and friends.

David brings solid experience and a friendly, can-do attitude to our Accounts & VAT team, and he’s always happy to help. He’s recently become a dad, so he’s now an expert at running on very little sleep.

Pearse was with McCreath in its early days and has come back to strengthen our Accounts & VAT team, bringing great client knowledge and technical know-how. Outside work, he’s never one to turn down a catch-up with friends.

Lauren joined our payroll team from a large payroll company, so there’s very little about pay day she hasn’t seen. She helps clients keep their staff paid right, every time. Outside work, she’s usually training horses or at a Young Farmers event.

Sophie started out in payroll and bookkeeping before joining us as a trainee accountant, and accounting has been her favourite subject since S4 at school. Outside work she’s out with friends and family with country music on, and her Friday work outfit is never complete without a pair of Crocs.

Olivia is the friendly face of our Admin & HR team, guiding clients through their HR needs from start to finish. She’s married with a young family and a Glasgow Clan season ticket holder, so expect some ice hockey chat.

Emma knows McCreath from both sides: she was a client before she joined us. Now she supports our payroll team and welcomes new clients in Stornoway and across the Western Isles. Recently married, she keeps fit and plays badminton for the Western Isles team we sponsor.

Lyndsay joined our Stornoway team with a background in finance and administration, and keeps island clients right with their Xero. Away from her desk she’s rotating between her polytunnel, pouring candles that make the whole house smell amazing, and getting her chef on in the kitchen.

Esther keeps things running smoothly for clients and colleagues alike in our Admin & HR team. She’s a keen photographer and a former dance tutor, so she’s got an eye for detail and plenty of rhythm.
